Precision Rifle Retreat
Precision Rifle Retreat is our staple course that is great for beginners as well as those who would like a refresh. Held in the Powder River Basins of Gillette, Wyoming this course focuses on the basics of precision rifle marksmanship and ballistic data gathering. During the 3.5 days of training clients will explore:
- Rifle set-up (optic mounting, eye relief, optical focus, chassis configuration)
- Building your operational space
- Fundamentals of marksmanship (prone position)
- Zero procedures
- Ballistics overview
- Environmental factors
- Ballistic computer overview and inputs
- Ranging targets
- Calibrating your trajectory
- Wind speeds/direction
- Positional shooting
- Team communication
The techniques taught will be put to the test with two days with afternoon prairie dog hunting. This offers an opportunity for clients to fine tune the skills being taught as well as to help control the prairie dog population.
Event includes ground transportation to and from Northeast Wyoming Regional Airport (flights are NOT included in course cost), lodging, meals and drinks.
